Through Gérard Grisey’s Vortex Temporum, a masterpiece of spectral music, we explore extreme temporalities: the stretched time of whales, the rapid time of insects, and the measured time of humans. This weaving of harmonies derived from the natural resonance of sounds creates an organic and captivating sonic experience, where time bends, expands, and contracts.
In contrast, Jean-Luc Hervé’s Trio presents a different approach to time and form: a more dynamic trajectory, conceived as a journey through sound space, where timbre transforms and moves. Its music, sometimes fragmented, sometimes suspended, challenges our listening and invites us to perceive the moment in a new way.
To complete this program, we have commissioned a new work from composer Martin Loridan. In dialogue with Grisey, his piece will continue this exploration of sonic trajectories, adding a dimension inspired by the moon. This creation will enrich the program and offer a fresh perspective on time, gesture, and listening.
